Soul and Heart Business Briefs

Awaken the Soul and Heart of Your Business

The Prelude

This will be the first of many blog posts for me on the topic of integrating your soul and heart into our businesses. Years ago I wrote articles and posts about entrepreneurship for believers. They were good and many prophetic in nature but I realize that then was not the time. I had too much healing to do and years to learn how God desires to show up in my business. My prayer is that as you read these blog posts, you find healing and God’s desire for how you need to show up in your business. These will be what I call Soul and Heart in Business Briefs, written to help disrupt toxic thought patterns about business and hopefully they will inspire you to think and do differently.

The Problem

For many years, we, as believers in business have operated with a “one foot in and one foot out mentality”. We have had one foot in how the world does business and the other on the Kingdom side of things. This indecisive behavior due to FOMO (fear of missing out), the inability to truly surrender, lack of knowledge or feigned ignorance, and inactive moves (catch it) of faith, has caused discord and disharmony to happen in the marketplace, where God desires to be glorified. It is this very behavior that is holding so many back from thriving in their rightful place of service in the marketplace.

The Solution

Just say ‘yes’ and ‘no.’ When you manipulate words to get your own way, you go wrong. (Matthew 5:37 MSG)

The answer is to learn how to be more decisive in how you move forward. This takes a soul and heart work.

Because, believe it or not, we operate from the space of the heart first. I know people always say, “mind over matter”, but that’s not quite right.

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. (Matthew 6:21 NLT)

But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” (Jeremiah 17:10 NLT)

The truth is that the heart and mind are partners. They work together for your success or your demise.

There is a struggle for Believers in Business to be wise in decision making because of the fears that lie within the soul and communicate to the mind. It then becomes easy to be lukewarm in how we show up in doing business as unto the Lord.

It’s time to change the narrative on how we move forward in the name of the Lord.

The Conclusion

When you read the posts on this blog, read them with a goal to learn something new and discover why healing is necessary for the Believer in Business. We are here to do the will of the one who sent us and to be His messengers of love, grace, and mercy; even in the marketplace.

Isn’t it time for us to fully show up in the marketplace?
